Cover letter builder

Write a cover letter in the same design as your resume. Your contact details carry over, a short checklist keeps it focused, and you download a clean PDF.

Free · No card needed · Works without a resume too

Sample letter in the Executive design.

How it works

  1. 1. Pick the resume it goes with

Your name, contact details and design are copied over, so the letter and resume look like a set.

  2. 2. Add the job

Enter the role, the company and, if you know it, the hiring manager’s name. The greeting and subject line fill in for you.

  3. 3. Write, check and download

Edit each paragraph with the page updating as you type, check the essentials, then save a PDF.

What the builder does for you

  • Same design as your resume

Letters use the letterhead of your resume template — Modern, Classic, Minimal, Executive, Creative or Two-column — with the same colors and fonts.

  • A first draft from your resume

In preview: paragraphs are built only from the experience and skills already in your resume, so nothing is made up. You edit it from there.

  • A short pre-send check

See whether the role and company are named, how long the letter is and whether it still fits on one page.

  • A PDF with real text

Download through your browser’s print window. The text stays selectable, and your edits save automatically.

What to put in a cover letter

Most cover letters follow the same four parts. The editor gives you one field for each, with a prompt that explains what goes there.

Opening
Name the role you are applying for and, in a sentence or two, why you want it and why you fit. Your name is already in the letterhead, so there is no need to introduce yourself.
Why you’re a good fit
One or two short paragraphs with the achievements most relevant to this job. Concrete results — what changed because of your work — are easier to remember than a list of duties.
Closing
Ask for a conversation and thank the reader. Keep it to two sentences.
Sign-off
“Kind regards” or “Sincerely”, followed by your name.

Frequently asked questions

Do I always need a cover letter?

Not always. Some applications ask for one and some don’t. A short letter is most useful when the posting asks for it, when you are changing careers, or when there is context your resume can’t show on its own.

How long should a cover letter be?

Usually less than one page — around 250 to 400 words is a common range. The editor shows your word count and tells you when the letter runs onto a second page.

Can I use the same letter for every application?

You can start from the same letter, but change the role, the company and the examples for each job. Duplicate a letter from My cover letters and edit the copy.

Does Luxury Resume write the letter for me?

It can draft a first version from your own resume — that feature is in preview and uses writing rules, not an AI model. It never adds experience you haven’t listed. You decide what stays.

Is it free?

Yes. Writing and downloading a cover letter is free. Downloading asks you to create a free account so your work is saved.
